Eat Local: J&J’s HAWAIIAN ICE, Boone

Want to beat the muggy summer heat in a delicious way? Look no further than J&J’s Hawaiian Ice truck parked near Walmart in Boone! The latest addition to Boone’s blossoming food truck scene, this family owned and operated business is keeping customers cool with their smooth, sweet icy treats.

The menu at the truck is deceptively simple at first glance. Choose if you want a small cup or a large, and then choose up to three of their 20+ flavors, or go with one of their combinations. The ice is shaved into the cup before your eyes, and then the flavor syrups are poured on top, soaking through to the base of the ice. If you really want to compound the sugar high you can choose to add ice cream or sweetened condensed milk, but why mess with a good thing?

The ices are as beautiful to look at as they are to eat!

  1. That’s awesome! Colton was so upset when the small one in downtown Blowing Rock closed!
